UW–Madison Innovators Eligible
A new Piloting Research Innovation & Market Exploration (PRIME) grant program will support critical research needed for commercialization of innovations developed at UW–Madison. Administered by UW-Madison’s Discovery to Product (D2P), successful project awards will be funded from $25,000 to $50,000.
“There are so many outstanding innovations and companies associated with UW–Madison,” said D2P Director Andy Richards. “I’m excited that we will be able to offer new grant assistance in addition to D2P’s SEED and Draper-TIF grants. This extra funding will benefit campus innovators’ technologies, products and services as well as provide a positive impact on the economy of the state of Wisconsin.”
The PRIME grant will allow UW-Madison faculty, academic staff, and students with an innovative commercial opportunity to undertake research designed to overcome critical market risk milestones, validate customer acceptance, and/or generate private and public funding. Campus innovators applying for this grant can be UW–Madison faculty or staff with PI status or staff and current students with PI Sponsors.
Funding will be available for fiscal year 2023 (from October 15, 2022 – June 30, 2023).
The deadline for proposals is Tuesday, September 26, 2022.
