The Center for Dairy Research offers a fully equipped pilot scale cheese processing plant as well as access to experienced staff to assist in the planning and coordination of your projects and research.
Dairy Processing Equipment
The Center for Dairy Research pilot plant has the capabilities to conduct a wide range of dairy related processes to produce beverages, cultured products, concentrates and powders.
Fab Lab
The Morgridge Fab Lab collaborates with inventors on computer-aided design, prototyping, 3D printing, microfluidics and fabrication, from conception to completion. The campus-wide facility can assist with the more experimental phases of a research effort by generating early-stage prototypes and novel research tools.
Forward BIOLABS
Forward BIOLABS provides fully equipped, maintained, supported lab space, and a network to facilitate interactions with business and lab service providers, investors, industry, academia, and government. Forward BIOLABS offers fast, flexible, and affordable options for startups, creating capital efficiency by eliminating the need to find, lease, design, equip, and operate their own lab.
Kohler Visualization Studio
The Kohler Studio provides space and equipment for students to bring objects into the virtual world and analyze them. Equipment in the studio includes a green screen, virtual & augmented reality equipment, 3D scanners, and a wall of T1V touchscreens.
MadWorks Coworking
With locations in University Research Park and on campus at 1403 University, Madworks Coworking provides a professional work environment that fosters creativity and productivity. MadWorks offers a range of options from renting your own office or desk to sharing coworking space within a vibrant, innovative, entrepreneurial community.
MakerSpace
Largely student run, the College of Engineering Makerspace strives to empower students by creating a community immersed in emerging technologies, focused on creating innovative products. The facilities include 12,000 square feet of shop and flex space with a wide range of rapid prototyping equipment.

The Office of Campus Research Cores works to enhance access to and support of research services at UW–Madison. Technical Education and Manufacturing Lab
The UW College of Engineering’s Technical Education and Manufacturing Lab (TEAM Lab) is a 13,791-square-foot facility located in the Engineering Centers Building on campus. The TEAM Lab provides UW engineering faculty, staff, and students with the tools and materials needed to create amazing projects in metal, plastic, and wood.
University Research Park
University Research Park is an internationally recognized nonprofit research and technology park that supports early-stage, and growth-oriented businesses in a range of sectors, including engineering, software and life sciences. The Park leases quality office and lab space ranging in size from co-working (see Madworks) or small office/lab suites with flexible leases in its MGE Innovation Center incubator to entire buildings or land for build-to-suit projects.
