Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison are hoping to make it easier to find ways to make your home more accessible — all from the palm of your hand.
Professor Jung-Hye Shin, chair of UW’s Design Studies Department, said she heard from older adults and adults with disabilities while researching in the field, “telling me that it’s really hard to get any reliable assessment because there is no one out there who’s actually doing it at a reasonable price.”
She performed many of those assessments — with a pen and paper. “And Kevin one day saw me doing that, like, ‘can we do the AR out of it?’ Because it’s just so much work.”
