UW researchers employ virtual reality technology to reimagine scientific exploration

The University of Wisconsin’s Virtual Environments Group has been utilizing virtual reality environments and 3D data analysis for both research and education to visualize scientific data in a whole new way.

Kevin Ponto, an assistant professor at the UW School of Human Ecology, feels much of VR’s potential remains largely untapped. Ponto and the Virtual Environments Group are developing the future of virtual reality with real-world applications.
